A city in the Baroque style

Lecce is a city in Apulia known for its Baroque-style buildings. In the central Piazza del Duomo, Lecce Cathedral is located with a double facade and bell tower.

The Basilica of the Holy Cross features sculptures and a rose window. Nearby are the Roman-era Column of St. Oronzo, which houses a bronze statue of the city’s patron saint on its summit, and the Roman amphitheater, below street level.
